Tunings: 64 and 20
agent_orbs is a Flutter package of dotted loading orbs for AI and agent UIs, published on pub.dev (v0.1.0). The original concept, design and math belong to Jakub Antalik and his thinking-orbs project. I made the Flutter port: the animation engine is translated to Dart and drawn with CustomPainter.
Credit and scope
The look, the states and the underlying math come from Jakub Antalik's thinking-orbs. My contribution is the Flutter package: translating that engine to Dart and CustomPainter, packaging it for pub.dev and adding a runnable example. Anyone who wants the original design should start with his project.
Nine states, two tunings
There are nine animation states, from working and searching to composing and breathing. Each orb has two tunings, one for a 64 pixel avatar and one for a 20 pixel inline size, so the same state reads well at both scales.
Plain CustomPainter
Rendering uses CustomPainter with no shaders. The dots are rotated, z-sorted and depth-shaded, so size and ink weight carry the sense of depth in a 3D shape.
Fits the host app
The orbs follow the light or dark theme, take a speed control and can be paused. They respect the reduced-motion setting, and the repository includes an example app.
